SHOW
Thank you to those who came out and supported us in our Jackson Fusion Tap Show. The show went well and I’m so proud of my Cadancers! I can’t wait to see the professional photos and videos of our performance. In the meantime, you can catch a snippet of a few of our numbers and some photos on Instagram and on Facebook. You’ll have to wait for the full videos on YouTube. Stay tuned…..

#NEVERSTOPLEARNING
Over the Victoria Day long weekend, another Cadancer, Nadine, and I took a Bollywood Jazz dance workshop with Shiamak Toronto. We had taken their workshop the previous time they were in Montreal in 2012, so we knew it would be great fun and an intense workout. Just take a look below at the videos to see that this year was no different!
Over the summer, I hope to take other dance classes to expand my horizons. After all, a dancer never stops learning and there is always room for improvement – no matter how much experience that dancer has. And especially when you step outside of your comfort zone and learn new styles, that’s when you really get to know your dancing self. We’ll see in the next couple of years how all of this knowledge informs my next choreographies!

HAPPY NATIONAL TAP DANCE DAY
May 25 is National Tap Dance Day which celebrates tap dancing as an American art form. May 25, the birthday of Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, was chosen because of his significant contributions to tap dance. So even if you’re just sitting in a chair or walking down the street, see if you can add a little bit of percussive movement to your day! And enjoy this video from my very first tap dance performance at the tender age of eight (that’s me, second from the left in the center line!).
See you in class!
