I’ve participated in several March Matness events in the last few years. And every year, without fail, March 1st surprises me with how quickly it arrives and I never manage to plan well ahead of time my videos for the event.
So, this morning, I filmed myself doing all 34 Return to Life exercises to the best of my ability and there may or may not be a head or a foot cut off in said video. Oops! I may or may not refilm.
But this time, I also filmed myself breaking down the exercises into preparations and modifications to help you build up to the full exercise. I invite you to try the exercises with me each day (as we get down through the order, it’s a good idea to have first warmed up your body … with the preceding exercises). If some of those exercises don’t feel accessible to your body at the moment, check out my stories for those preps and mods. I’ll also post them to Cadance’s Vimeo page.
This year’s March Matness theme is “Thank you notes to Pilates”. I think today, my thank you is simply for the gift of these 34 exercises. I don’t give myself the time for doing these exercises as frequently as I should (I know, send the Pilates Police after me for being a bad Pilates instructor). Really, doing all of the exercises took me about 25 minutes today. I should be doing it more often! And in those measly 25 minutes, my face was flushed, I was sweating all over my mat, and my body felt like it had been challenged and loved from head to toe. What a gift!!!
I’d like to find more time each week to give myself that gift of the 34 exercises. Wouldn’t you like that for yourself as well?
