Celebrating 100 Years of Pilates in Montreal

This fall, Montreal will celebrate a very special milestone: 100 years of the Pilates method, marking the opening of Joseph and Clara Pilates’ first studio in New York City.

I’m truly excited to be part of this gathering at the Grand Quai in the Old Port of Montreal, alongside the Collectif Méthode Pilates and many inspiring, like-minded instructors from Montreal and beyond.

It’s not every day that we get to come together like this — across studios, training backgrounds, and teaching lineages — to celebrate the legacy of Joseph Pilates and the method that continues to shape how we move, train, and connect with our bodies today.

As a comprehensively certified instructor trained in both the classical Pilates system through Real Pilates NYC and the contemporary STOTT PILATES® method, I feel deeply connected to this lineage and grateful to be part of a community that continues to uphold and evolve it with care and integrity.

This event is also a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues, meet new teachers, and celebrate the wider Pilates community here in Montreal and across the region.

Whether you’ve been practicing Pilates for years or are just beginning your journey, this celebration is open to everyone. It’s a chance to move together, learn from one another, and honour the roots of the method we all share.
