Cadance News April 2013

SPRING SESSION

It’s not too late to join the session!

If you want to learn or improve upon your jazz dancing skills (maybe even be featured on stage in our May 2014 show!), we have Advanced/Intermediate Jazz on Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 and Beginner/Intermediate Jazz on Thursdays 7:00-8:30.   Participation in the show is optional, but it will be a fun experience dancing to the great songs of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.  Our jazz numbers will include Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Come Together, Something,  Wild Horses, Honky Tonk Women, Emotional Rescue, and more!  Contact me to find out which level would be appropriate for you.

If you want to just keep it simple, get your sweat on to some awesome music, and feel good, GROOVE is on Thursdays 6:00-7:00.  I take suggestions and inspiration from our GROOVErs for fun playlists.  We’ve had several ’80s and ’90s playlists and coming up this week, we will have an ’80s movie musical playlist inspired by Fame.  What do YOU want to GROOVE to?

If you want to improve your posture, strengthen your core, and get a good workout, Pilates is on Tuesdays 7:30-8:30.  I keep the mat class interesting with different props like the Fitness Circle, Toning Balls, and Flex Bands.  Come and find out for yourself how long, lean, and wonderful Pilates will make you feel!

A SHOW FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

On April 20, you’ll be able to see a very talented group of children in La Fantaisie dance ensemble, led by former Cadancer, Irina Chirca who is the founder, choreographer, and producer of La Vie en Mouvement.  They will be performing a variety of styles of dance, telling the story of Cinderella, where you will also see some of my choreography!  Check out some video clips and photos of their performance of the show in December.  But be sure to see the show in April – there will be new choreography in this version!  You can purchase tickets here.
